Fred C. Kruckow, 85, of Backus, died Friday, February 17, 1984 at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd.

Mr. Kruckow was a Ponto Lake Township resident for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Lena; three sons, Norbert and Rolland of Minneapolis and Christian of Backus; four daughters, Mrs. Lynn (Norma) Hanson of Good ridge, Mrs. Robert (Laura) Norried of Ankney; Iowa, Mrs. Melvin (Jeanette) Ferratese of Oakdale, Calif., and Miss Loretta Jane Kruckow of Minneapolis; one brother, Cliffton of Mountain Lake, Ark.; three sisters, Miss Myrtle Kruckow and Mrs. Peter (Olive) Clark, both of Hayward, Calif., and Mrs. Laura Snyder of St. Paul; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services were held Monday, February 20, 1984 at the Church of the Nazarene in Backus with Rev. Terrill Haddix officiating. Burial was in Ponto Lake Cemetery.

Northland Funeral Home in Pine River was in charge of arrangements.
