Opal B Anderson, 91, of Stevens Point, formerly a longtime resident of Brule, died Saturday evening, Dec 19, 1998, in the River Pines Nursing Center in Stevens Point. She was born on Oct 7, 1907, the daughter of Viola (Lee) and Roscoe Wann.
Opal grew up and attended school in Brule. After graduating from Central High School in Superior, she attended Superior State Normal School. She was employed as a postal clerk for the Brule Post Office and served as the Postmaster for many years before retiring.
In May 1930, she was united in marriage to Arthur Anderson of Duluth. she was a member of the Brule Presbyterian Church and its Ladies Aid. She lived in Brule for most of her life, moving to Stevens Point a few years ago.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arthur; one brother, Thomas "Ben"; and two sisters, Helen and Eva.
Opal is survived by one daughter, Barbara Wollmer of Stevens Point; three grandchildren, Eric (Keli) Wollmer, Steven (Ann) Wollmer and Susan (Mark) Trapp; one great-granddaughter, Greta Ann; a sister, Dorothy Hall of Superior; and several nieces and nephews.
Interment will be in Brule Cemetery at a later date.
