Raymond Lee Joanis, 63, died Sunday, Jan 22, 1989 at his home in rural Marengo, WI. Lee was born in Washburn, WI on Aug 14, 1925 to Raymond and Esther (Molnaa) Joanis. In 1946, he married Letitia Hopton in Marseilles, IL.

He was employed in construction while living in Marseilles for 17 years. While a resident of Marseilles, Lee was s member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, where he served on the church council. He also was a Sunday School teacher and superintendent. He was active in the community as a Cub Scout master for several years.

in 1963, Lee and family moved to the Marengo area where he owned and operated a dairy farm. While a resident of that area, Lee was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Ashland, WI.

Lee is survived by two sons, Jerald of Clintonville, WI, and Richard of Ashland, WI; a daughter, Cathleen Peltonen, of Marengo, WI; six grandchildren; his mother, Esther, of Marseilles, IL; a brother, James and a sister, Lorraine Cox, both of Marseilles, IL.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Letitia; his father, Raymond and a brother, Richard.

Lee and his wife, "Lish" are sorely missed by family and friends.
