|Death: ||Mar. 7, 1902|
Z.C. Cole died at his home a short distance from town last Friday, March 7, 1902, after a long siege of Bright's disease coupled with old age.
The deceased was born in Charleston, Orleans County, Vermont in 1819, and came to Wisconsin at the age of 19 and located at Watertown. He soon returned to Vermont, where he was married to Miss Jane Albee, and they returned in 1865 and settled at Eau Claire, where they resided until 1869, when they moved to Missouri; then in 1875 returning to Watertown, from whence they moved and located in our midst about twelve years ago. Mr. Cole was 83 years of age at the time of his death, and leaves an aged wife and four grown-up children- two boys and two girls, all living, to lament the departed. The funeral took place at the M.D. Church in the village last Sunday afternoon, the local pastor Rev. H.A. Snyder officiating and the remains laid to rest in Forest Hill Cemetery.
