McMinnville resident and Warren County native Clifford Eugene Cantrell, 83, was born June 28, 1922 and died March 26 at Stones River Hospital in Woodbury following an extended illness.
The retired owner of C&M Machine Shop and a member of the East End Church of Christ, he served his country in the United States Army during WWII. He was the son of the late Huburn and Josie Glenn Cantrell and was married Sept. 20, 1947 to Emma Lou Barnes Cantrell of McMinnville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Glen, Carson and Everett Cantrell, and two sisters, Ollie Potter and Wretha Locke.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Kerry and Terry Mullican and Kathy and Barry Taylor, all of McMinnville, and Cheryl and Brent Pirtle of Woodbury; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marie Jones of Sheffield, Ala., and Tula Dial of Killen, Ala., and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service were held Tuesday at High?s Chapel with Ernest Laws and Garland Robinson officiating.
Burial followed at Salem Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, American Lung Association, or East End Church of Christ Bible Call.
High Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
