Frank was born in Wildwood, PA, and makes his first public document appearance in the 1900 Census living with his parents on the family farm in McCandless Township at age 16. His occupation was farm laborer.

Frank married Sophia M. Reichhold on Wednesday, 17 November 1909, in Wildwood by S. H. Mollenauer, pastor of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church. Frank was 25-years old, a farmer and currently lived in Wildwood. Sophia said that she too was born in Wildwood, and gave her birth date as 14 December 1880. She was 28 and currently lived in Gibsonia.

On 12 September 1918, at age 34, Frank registered for the draft. He was described as medium height, medium build, and with blue eyes. Frank and Sophia were living at R.F.D. #2, Gibsonia, PA, and Frank worked as a stone mason for W. C. Rinaman, R.D. #2, Wexford, PA. (Gibsonia is an unincorporated community in Allegheny and Butler Counties, north of Pittsburgh.)

Frank and Sophia owned a home on Huch Road, McCandless Township, in the 1930 Census. Huch Road cannot be identified on a modern map. There was never any indication in census data that the couple had children. However, this census showed they had adopted a daughter by the name of Mary, a.k.a. Mariann, who was 7-years old. Frank worked as a laborer in a cement works.

In 1942, Frank, age 58, registered for the draft. He gave his mailing address as R.D. #1, Allison Park, PA. It showed his employer as R. J. Rinaman, Mars, PA, who did contracting work. Instead of using Sophia as the person who would always know his address, he used his brother Charles.

Frank's obituary appeared in the Pittsburgh Press of 25 February 1955, Page 30.
