Associates of the 7th Armored Division have been trying to locate Pvt. James Still for quite some time now. We still have a few blank areas on him, but would like to share what we have.

James W. Still born in Escambia County, Alabama. He entered the military on Feb. 18, 1943 at Fort McClellan, Alabama.

Assigned to 440th Armored Field Artillery Battalion, 7th Armored Division.

Exact last location is unknown, but his death date places him near Vielsalm, Belgium.

This engagement was known as The Battle Of The Bulge.

Probably Pvt James Still was also member of the crew who were killed by a high explosive (HE) in their M-7 when they were riding in Provedroux area during the Battle of the Bulge.
