Frances M. Cox, daughter of the late James and Edith Jones, was born November 29, 1927, in Lewisburg, West Virginia.
Frances spent her childhood in Lewisburg, WV and attended Bolling High School there before moving to New Haven, CT to work. After several years, she returned home to Lewisburg to Jive and work. In the late 1950s, she moved to Baltimore, MD, where, in the early 1960s, she met Squire M. Cox, her devoted husband for more than 40years.
Frances was employed as a domestic worker, electronic parts assembler, and stock clerk before becoming a full time homemaker in order to care for her family and ill grandmother.
As a young woman, Frances joined Mount Tabor Baptist Church in Lewisburg, WV. After moving to Baltimore, she attended various churches in the area. Later, she and Squire attended and soon became members of New Metropolitan Baptist Church.
Frances was a devoted wife, mother, family member and friend. She was an easy person to love. Her friends and family will greatly miss her unselfish and caring personality, but are comforted in knowing that she is in a better place.
She departed this life on November 17, 2008, after a long illness. Her beloved Squire followed her to that better place on November 19, 2008. Thus, as they were constant companions in life, God saw fit for them to soon be reunited.
She is survived by her son, Charles Edwards and his wife, Constance; stepsons, Bernard Cox (Bernard), Emanuel Cox and Adrian Cox (Teresa); brother, Carl Jones; a grandson; and numerous step-grandchildren, step-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins. other family members and friends.
