YAKIMA - Mildred Viola Hake, 98, died Monday, January 3, 2005, at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital.
Mildred was born to Clyde and Selma Wallace on July 26, 1906, in Granger, Washington. Mildred was blessed with four sisters, Shirley, Georgia, Helen, and Anna Louise; and a brother, Frank.
She graduated from Wapato High School in 1926. She was married to Glen Dearing on May 3, 1930. The couple lived in Wapato during their married life, where Mr. Dearing worked as an hydrographer for the U.S. Indian Irrigation Service. Together they enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time at their cabin at Rim Rock Lake. Glen passed away November 28, 1950.
On July 5, 1953, Mildred married Leo E. Hake and moved to Ellensburg, where she lived until Leo's death in 1990. Mildred and Leo loved camping trips in their R.V. and were active in Manashtash and Pomona Granges, where they both became 7th degree members. Mildred loved to play pinochle and enjoyed membership in the Mother's Club of Ellensburg and in the Syringa Chapter of Eastern Star.
After Leo's death Mildred moved to Yakima to be near her sister, Helen Wallace.
Mildred is survived by two sisters, Helen of Yakima and Anna Louise Durbin of Cour d'Alene, Idaho; her brother-in-law, William Durbin of Couer d'Alene; her sister-in-law, Katherine Wallace of Ellensburg; and by 11 nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at Keith and Keith Terrace Heights Chapel, Wednesday, January 12, 2005 at 2:00 PM. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 11, 2005 from Noon to 8:00 PM at Keith and Keith Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Terrace Heights Memorial Park.
