Mrs. Patricia "Pat" H. Dowling, 62 of Middletown, MD, died Wednesday, August 17, 2005 at the Washington Hospital Center. She was the wife of Edward Dowling her husband of 40 years.
Born December 15, 1942 in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Regis J. and Ina A. Morrison Flaherty.
Mrs. Dowling retired, after 27 years, as an executive secretary from the Montgomery County School System. She was presently employed as a job coach, at ARC of Carroll County. She enjoyed working with the handicapped and challenged adults. Pat was a loving wife and mother and always enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed going to the family cottage at Deep Creek Lake.
In addition to her husband she is survived by four children. Edward Allen Dowling and wife Ruth A. of Woodlawn, TN, David Joseph Dowling and wife Candice of Germantown, MD, Edward Regis Dowling and wife Dolly of Brunswick, MD, and Deborah Lynn Haberkorn and husband Will of Brooklyn Park, MD. There are eleven grandchildren, brothers, Edward Davis and wife Lorraine of Illinois, William Flaherty and wife Paulette of PA, Harry Flaherty and wife Erica of Nevada, Faye Wilkenson and husband Ken and Glen Flaherty and wife Erica of Nevada, Faye Wilkenson and husband Ken and Glen Flaherty all of PA. Many nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Gavin Lee Dowling.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opposumtown Pike, Frederick, MD, on Friday, August 19, 20905 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where services will be held Saturday, August 20, at 1:30 p.m. Interment will be at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick.
