Musical group singer Evalee Clayton, 82, of Paris died Monday, April 16, 2012, at Henry County Medical Center.
Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at McEvoy Funeral Home.
Michael Key will officiate. Burial will follow in Bevil Cemetery.
Chosen as pallbearers are Chris Judd, Jeremiah and Dustin Clayton, James Tracy Taylor Jr., Andrew Key and Clayton Taylor.
Honorary pallbearers will be Alex and Aaron Key, Cody Tate, Casey, Joshua, Bradley and Chase Clayton and Cameron and Xaviar Howard. Visitation is set from 4-8 p.m. today and after 10 a.m. Wednesday.
Born Aug. 16, 1929, in Paris, she was a daughter of the late Johnny Ewing Hudson and Lille Arco Phillips Hudson.
She was married on Aug. 17, 1946, to Eulus Clayton, who died in 2011.
Clayton was a homemaker and member of New Bethel Baptist Church. An avid singer and square dancer, she was a member of local bands The Misfits and The Hillbillies.
She leaves one daughter: Donna (Tommy) Judd of Paris; two sons: Tommy (Martha) Clayton and Gerald (Joanie) Clayton, both of Paris; one brother: Larry Hugh (Bonnie) Hudson of Paris; two sisters-in-law: Carolyn Green and Geneva Conger;
Seven grandchildren: Melissa (Michael) Key, Fonda (Tracy) Taylor, Dustin Clayton, Angela Tate, Jeremiah Clayton and Chris and Amanda Judd, all of Paris; 15 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She also was preceded in death by a brother: Johnny Curtis "J.C." Hudson.
