After 38 years Lance Corporal Samuel Arthur Sharp Jr., USMC is coming home for burial. Born Feb. 09, 1947, in Bonners Ferry, Idaho. Died May 10, 1967, in the Republic of Vietnam. He grew up in Campbell and San Jose, California. Graduated from Pioneer High School in 1965 then joined the Marines the same year.
Sam is survived by his mother Irene, sister Janet, niece Tracy, nephew Samuel and six great nieces and nephews all of Spokane, Washington.
Visitation is Friday April 22, 2005, 5 - 9 at Chapel of Roses, Oak Hill Funeral Home. Funeral Service April 23, 2005, at 11:00 at the Chapel of Roses with interment at Oak Hill Memorial Park in San Jose, California. In lieu of flowers donations of appreciation to: National League of Families of American POW/MIA. 1005 North Glebe Rd., Suite 170 Arlington, Virginia 22201. Arrangements made by Oak Hill Funeral Home 300 Curtner Avenue, San Jose, Calif., 95125.
Note: One month after burial here, Samuel Sharp was honored along with his fellow Marines at Arlington National Cemetery.
