Chief Olin Sumner "Jim" Lake

Beloved husband of Edna Gladys Lake.

WWII WIA POW. He was a Chief Quartermaster in the U.S. Navy serving on the USS Penguin, was wounded in action and captured on the first day of the war, December 8, 1941, when the Japanese attacked Guam and was in POW camps until the end of the war. In January 1942, he was transferred to the Zentsuji POW camp in Japan and used as slave labor in Japanese mines. He was liberated from Sendai Main Camp, No. Honshu on September 5, 1945.
