CIVIL WAR VETERAN
VETERAN OF CIVIL WAR DIES SUDDENLY.
John Dougherty, age 66, a veteran of the civil war, died at the Bremerton hospital Wednesday afternoon from a stroke of apoplexy. He was stricken Tuesday evening after the day's work in the navy yard where he was employed. The remains were buried in the G. A. R. plot in the Bremerton cemetery last Thursday. John Dougherty was a corporal in Company F, 3rd regiment, Maine volunteer infantry, and was a member of Company K, First regiment, Maine volunteer heavy artillery during the civil war.
