Val Egan Asay was born Monday, February 27, 1928 to Lyle and Elsie Egan Asay in Delta, Utah.

He was an Electronic Technician at Sears for twenty-five years. He worked for Macey's for seven years.

He loved participating in and watching all sports. He especially loved watching his grandson Jalon play football and basketball.

He loved being with his grandkids. He loved his wife of forty-two years, Ione, and would do anything for her. He loved the springtime so he could plant his flowers and took pride in his gorgeous yard.

Val and Ione lived in Provo until 2007, residing at 1261 East 580 South. In 2007, they moved to Springville, residing at 533 West 300 South.

Val passed away on Saturday, December 12, 2009 at his home of congestive heart failure.

Val left behind his wife Ione, son Darren (Christine), daughter Alaina (Shane), nine grandchildren, brother Fred Asay, and sister Lila (Mel) Merrill. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and one sister.

Funeral Services were held on Friday, December 18, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Berg Drawing Room Chapel located at 185 East Center Street in Provo. A viewing was held one hour prior to the services.
Val was laid to rest following the conclusion of the Funeral Services in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery in Springville.
