Anzack of Torrance, California attended South High School, where he had been a football star. He was a self-assured high schooler and he knew early that he wanted to join the military. Joseph was raised in Torrance, CA, graduated South High, Class of 2005. Joseph played noseguard and other positions for the South High Spartans all four years. He was one of three soldiers who vanished after their combat team was ambushed May 12 about 20 miles outside of Baghdad. Five others, including an Iraqi, were killed in the ambush, subsequently claimed by al-Qaida. He was 20.
