E.H. ANDERSON DIES IN INDIANA
The Rev. Evan Hurshel Anderson, 59, died at 12:55 p.m. October 20, at his home in Portage, IN.
The body was removed to the House Funeral Home here and services were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesay at the Mt. Olive Baptist Church by the Revs. W.E. Jones and Chester Bargo.
Burial followed in the Mt. Olive Cemetery at Tuttle.
A native of Knox County, Rev. Anderson was born Aug. 16, 1904, the son of Ballard and Sarah Johnson Anderson. He was married Aug. 27, 1927 in London to Minnie Cobb, who survives.
He also leaves four daughters and three sons; Allie Frazier and Willie and James Anderson, all of Portage, IN; Imogene Anderson and Jackie Frazier, both of Indianapolis; Vera Field, Hamilton; and Duane Anderson, East Gary, IN; and 15 grandchildren. Also surviving are a sister and two brothers: Lucinda Adams and Donald and Homer Anderson, all of Sneedville, Tenn; and half-brothers and half-sisters: Nancy Trumley, Detroit; Sallie Glover, Sneedville, Tenn; and Larkin, Norman and Sydney Anderson, all of Florida; and his father, Ballard Anderson, Orisco, IN.
The deceased was a member of the Gary Baptist Church.
