Confederate Memorial
Birth: unknown
Death: unknown

Located in the Confederate section of the Little Rock National Cemetery, the monument is dedicated to the memory of the Confederate soldiers. In 1868, the property was designated a national cemetery and the remains of 1,482 Civil War dead were removed from the area's battlefield graves and re-interred there. A Confederate cemetery was established adjacent to the national cemetery and remains of 640 Confederate soldiers, which had been buried at Little Rock's Mount Holly Cemetery were removed and re-interred there, as well. Erected by the Trustees of Mount Holly Cemetery, the memorial reads: "Here lie the remains of 640 Confederate soldiers from Arkansas, Missouri, Texas, and Louisiana who died in the years 1861, 62 and 1863. (bio by: John "J-Cat" Griffith)
