Vera Louise (Parkhurst) Brewer was born Jan. 21, 1913 in Eufaula to Roy E and Lottie (Plotner) Parkhurst.
She attended Eufaula Schools and graduated in 1936 from Oklahoma A&M College in Stillwater.
She was a lifelong educator from 1937-1978 with the exception of several years during World War II when she was an inspector at Douglas Aircraft in Tulsa. She taught at Northeastern State College in Tahlequah, Broken Arrow, East Central and Catoosa High Schools. She retired in 1978 after 36 years in the Union School District.
She was a past Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star in Catoosa.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Guy Brewer Jr.; parents, sister Valera L Williams; brothers: Roy Carl and C. Bert Parkhurst,and neice Terri Alicia Vinson.
She is survived by her neices; Charlotte A Poe and her husband John, Patricia S Berkey, Kaye E Absher and her husband Curtis, Carol K Caviness, nephews; Steven B Parkhurst and his wife Linda, Timothy C Parkhurst and his wife Sarah, John L and Thomas P Williams, Jeffrey R Graddy, and his wife Shelly, and many other great and great-great-neices and nephews.
Funeral service was Aug. 26, 2008 at the Kennedy-Amis-Kennard Chapel, Interment was at Greenwood Cemetery in Eufaula.
