Clayton Ilgen, 67, retired Illinois Central railroad employe, passed away at a local hospital last night. He had been in a critical condition for several days.
Mr. Ilgen was born April 11, 1875, at Dakota, the son of John and Sarah Ilgen. He was educated in Freeport schools and in 1904 was united in marriage to Miss Louise Blust. The wife passed away Nov. 16, 1930. He was employed by the Illinois Central for many years, retiring in 1940 on pension. For the past several months he resided with his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Isaac, 715 West Pleasant street. Besides the daughter he leaves one sister, Mrs. G. B. Reigard, Freeport. Three brothers and two sisters preceded him in death. Two grandchildren and a niece survive.
Friends may call at the Schwarz funeral home, South Galena avenue. Funeral services will probably be held Monday morning.

Funeral services for the late Clayton Ilgen were held at 9 o'clock this morning at the Schwartz funeral home with a requiem mass at St. Joseph's church at 9:30 o'clock. Rev. N. J. Berg celebrated the mass and interment was made in St. Joseph's cemetery. The following acted as bearers, Lester Hewins, Charles Schlegel, John Vohlken, Frank Redmer, Emmerson Miller, Oscar. H. Rotzler.
