Mrs. Annie M. Fearon
Mrs. Annie M. Fearon, a well known resident and one of the oldest citizens of Beech Creek, died at her home Sunday morning at 2 o'clock. Death was due to cerebral hemorrhages, following failing health for the past six months.
Deceased was a daughter of Nathaniel and Sarah Willis Johnson, who were natives of England, and located at Pottsville, Pa., later coming to Farrandsville, when she was a child, later moving into Beech Creek township. Nearly her entire life was lived in that community, where she was married to John T. Fearon, a well known and prosperous farmer of Beech Creek township, who died about 25 years ago, shortly after retiring to his residence in the borough. Of this union the following children survive: Harry H. Fearon, postmaster of Beech Creek; Ernest T. Fearon, of Highland Park, Philadelphia; Mrs. Annie F. Furst and Miss Edith Fearon, of Beech Creek. One son, John Sidney Fearon, died about ten years ago. Of the large family of brothers and sisters, of which deceased was a member, she was the last survivor.
Deceased was a member of the Presbyterian church since 1871, when she became a charter member of the Beech Creek Presbyterian church, and was deeply interested in its organization and progress. She was faithful in her attendance at the church services all her life, and was steadfast in her faith and allegiance. She was a bright, intelligent woman, who retained until last September, an unusually alert mind, and remarkable physical endurance. She had a most loveable disposition, a kind heart, and lived such a life as will ever be a pleasant memory to all who knew her.
The funeral will occur tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock at the house. The services will be conductef by Rev. Louis V. Barber, pastor of the Presbyterian church. Interment in the Hayes-Fearon cemetery.
