OBITUARY:
Alvey Ray Cochran died in Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas, at the age of 44 years, 9 months, 3 days. He died Friday night (about 2:00 a.m. Saturday morning) 9 November 1968 of a heart attack. He was rushed to a hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital. Shannon's Funeral Home, North Side Drive at Main Street, Fort Worth, Texas, handled the burial arrangements. A Mr. Griffin of the Christian Church, Fort Worth, Texas, preached a short graveside service. Mr. Henningan and Mr. Cato of the funeral home were very considerate and helpful in all matters. Burial was made in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Fort Worth, Texas (it is located on the East side of Fort Worth toward Dallas). The burial spot is Space No. 598, Lot (section) 7. This is a permanently cared for cemetery and this space will have a permanent marker. Burial was at 2:30 p.m. Friday, 15 November 1968. Those in attendance besides the minister (Mr. Griffin) and two representatives of the funeral home were: Mary E. Cochran Jordan (sister); her husband Franklin S. Jordan and their children Diana M. Jordan and Danny M. Jordan. Flowers were sent by: E. Lucille Cochran Hall (sister); her husband Oliver Hall and children Wendell and Jeanette; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hawley (Carrol Ann, niece); Wade and Meta Cochran (uncle and aunt); Gene Maggard (brother). Reason for delay in burial was due to being in a town where he was unknown. It was through very painstaking efforts through meager pieces of paper on his person that the police and the funeral home were able to locate any relatives.
