STREATOR —Donna P. Ahlstrom, 76, of Streator, passed away Monday, May 13, at Heritage Health Therapy and Rehabilitation in Streator.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Erven Avenue Baptist Church, Streator. The Rev. Curtis Starner will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator. The Moose Ritual will be at 7 p.m. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Streator.
Pallbearers will be Rick Sroka, Richard Sroka III, Larry Walter, Scott Minkler and Dean Ahlstrom. Honorary pallbearer will be Gene Ahlstrom.
Born March 5, 1937, in Streator, she was the daughter of John and Irene (Daniels) Devera. She married John Gagliardo in 1955. They later divorced. He passed away in 2013. She later married Burdette "Burt" Ahlstrom on Dec. 19, 1982. He survives in Streator.
She is survived by a daughter, Jeannette (Rick) Sroka, of Malone, Wis.; sons, Benjamin Gagliardo, of Streator, Gregory Gagliardo, of Paxton, Dominic Gagliardo, of Streator, and Victor Gagliardo, of Streator; a stepdaughter, Patti (Scott) Minkler, of Kangley; stepsons, Dean Ahlstrom, of Streator, Gene (Sue) Ahlstrom, of Streator, and Curtis (Heather) Ahlstrom, of Streator; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; 11 stepgrandchildren; 11 stepgreat-grandchildren; and one sister, Evelyn Clayton, of Streator.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Correan Boyd; and brothers, Donald and John Jr. Devera.
Born and raised in Streator, she attended St. Mary's Grade School and graduated from Streator High School. She lived in Streator most of her lifetime, having spent some time in California.
She worked through the years for Paris Garter Factory and Arbest Pest Control. She also was an assistant manager at Hardee's. She retired from AC Massino Accounting in 1999.
After her retirement, she operated her own tax preparation business out of her home. She also ran a wedding cake baking and decorating business.
She was a member of Erven Avenue Baptist Church. She was very involved in her church and also sang with the church choir. She was a member of the Streator Moose Lodge where she and her husband also were very active. She was a Star Recorder for a period of time. She was a member of RC Flyers and also was a Reading Township trustee.
Memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor's choice.
