Herman F. Barczewski Age 82 passed away Thursday, April 26, 2001 in the VA Hospital.
Mr. Barczewski was an U.S. Army veteran serving during WWII. He operated a successful and well-known grocery and butcher shop for many years in the Wilmington area. In addition, he co-founded along with his brother, Stanley, Barczewski Brothers, Inc., a local sausage (Kielbasa) plant. He retired from active business life in 1980. He was a life member of the Pulaski Legion.
Surviving are 2 sons, Daniel Barczewski of Boston, MA and Michael Mack of Newark; daughters, Elaine Herron of Bargaintown, NJ and Susan Berting of Piscataway, NJ; a brother, Walter Barczewski; and sisters, Margaret Grabowski and Lucy Pietlock, all of Wilmington; his former wife, Florence; 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
A Mass will be offered Monday morning, April 30 at 10:30 am in St. Hedwig Catholic Church with burial to follow in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear. Visitation will be Monday morning at 8:30 at the JOHN F. YASIK FUNERAL HOME, 607 S. Harrison St.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to your favorite charity. (04/29/2001)
