DEATH OF Noah Minor Hartley
Prominent Citizen, of Carmichaels
Passes Away in his 81st Year.
Noah Minor Hartley, a well known and highly esteemed citizen, of Car-michaels. this county, died Thursday,April 22, in his eighty-first year, as the result, of an attack of paralysis from which he had been in feeble health for some time.
He was the son of Josephus and .Sarah Hartley, deceased; and was born October 11, 1834. At the outbreak of the Civil war he enlisted in sCo. A, 168th regiment, Penna. Volunteer Infantry, and . served t,hrough-out .the war. At the close of the war he engaged in farming and stock raising, in which occupation he coni-tinued successfully for forty years. In 1901 he purchased what was forr merly known as the Davidson House, in. Carmichaels, and took charge of the same, the name being changed to the Hartley Inn. He had since continued as proprietor of the hotel. He was a man of genial disposition, upright in character, honest in his dealings, and was well liked by his friends and acquaintances, He was a member of the Presbyterian church. [
On February 15, 1856 he was united in marriage to Miss Sarah Morgan and this union had lasted almost 60 years Mrs. Hartley and XXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Iowa and Mrs. Rebecca Hartley of
Maloy, Jowa, are surviving also 20
grandchildren and 12 great-grand
The funeral was held on Friday at 2 pm. Following brief 'services at the home, a memorial sermon was delivered at Glades Presbyterian church by the Rev.. John C, McMinn, of Jefferson. Interment in Glades . cemetery.
