Henry B. Murphy, 89, of Garden City, died July 10, 1999

He was a native of Emmanuel County and had lived in the Savannah area his whole life. He was one of the first organizers of the Woodlawn Methodist Church in Garden City which originated from meetings in his home. He had worked for Union Camp before opening his own business, Red's Welding Shop, in Savannah. He was a Mason and a member of the 32-degree Scottish Rite.

SURVIVORS: his wife, Anita M. Murphy of Garden City; daughters, Kathryn Saturday of St. Mary's, Cynthia Weeks and Tish Knight, both of Savannah; a son, David Murphy of Savannah; three sisters, Dolly Anderson of Lake City, Fla., Willie Pearl Ashe of Palatka, Fla., and Nell Blackburn of Savannah; a brother, Roy Murphy of Valdosta; ten grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

VISITATION: 6-9 p.m. today at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Massey Chapel, Garden City.

FUNERAL: 2 p.m. Monday at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Massey Chapel, burial in Hillcrest Abbey West.
