Birth: unknown
Death: Nov. 11, 1884

Civil War Union Soldier. He was mustered in as a Private in Company G, 11th New Jersey Volunteer Infantry on June 26, 1862. He served for a few months, then was found to have deserted on September 14, 1862. He was found and returned to duty on November 1, 1862, but after a court-martial he was dishonorably discharged on January 17, 1863. Given a chance to redeem himself, he re-enlisted in the Union Army, being mustered in as a Private in Company I, 2nd New Jersey Volunteer Cavalry on August 28, 1863. He served in the regiment's subsequent battles and campaigns in Mississippi, Tennessee, and Alabama, and participated in the conclusion of the conflict. He was honorably mustered out of Federal service on June 2, 1865, having wiped out the stain of his earlier ignominious enlistment.
