*UPDATE 5/19/2006* *MORE POETRY* ***Added a Mother's Day Poem that Brenda wrote for the church that turned up Mother's Day morning***

Brenda met Robert in her step-dad's Baron, Oklahoma Country Store in I believe the later part of 1974 and were January 8th, 1975. Born were 2 sons, Robbie (Robert Jr.) & Matt. She has 2 grandsons from Matt, Jacob Tallen & Joshua Allen. She was preceded in death by her parents Kenneth & Hersie Gates, an older sister Meredith Gates in which she has joined in HEAVEN. She had a Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Development and worked as a Preschool Teacher, a local hotspot Diner Waitress/Manager, & a Clothing Store until founding her own home based business Daycare. One other "job" she had which was a "God-given gift" was writing poetry. Brenda was a member of Watts First Baptist Church where she and her twin sister Glenda had founded the Watts Womens Group. Brenda wrote a beautiful 13 page short story titled "GOD, GLENDA, AND ME" that she presented at women's conferences in Northeastern Oklahoma (*please note if anyone would like to read the story I'll be more than glad to email it*). It moved so many people that Brenda was totally blinded by this movement. She never thought she had talent but the Lord and everyone else knew she did and that is all that mattered. Brenda & Glenda joined a wonderful music group along with the whole church called the Watts First Baptist Church Praise & Worship Team.*****It is funny how when Robbie & Matt were in their mid & early 20's she would set at her computer desk playing songs and singing in the loudest voice ever and shaking her head jamming to Christian music. Brenda always thought she sounded bad singing but several years later she never dreamed that she would be up on stage at church and rockin' in the Lord's house. Brenda would continue writing poetry (SEE IMAGES FOR WRITINGS; A FEW SAMPLES) which had turned into special "tear dropping" testimonials for all people to hear and read. She enjoyed revamping Rock-N-Roll songs (SEE IMAGES) into Christian songs. She would call on the phone everyone and either read or sing her song/poem over the telephone to see what they thought. I know she would called me on her latest song to make sure she had the lyrics right. Brenda was & still is a part of that Church's concrete foundation.***I TRULY BELIEVE THAT SHE IS ONE OF THE REASONS THE CHURCH HAS GROWN SO MUCH IS BECAUSE OF HER MAGNETIC PERSONALITY! She is truly ONE-OF-A-KIND! I Love You Mom.
