Joanna Hatley Haynes, 83, of Amarillo died Friday, Sept. 5, 2008.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Central Church of Christ Chapel with Dan Bouchelle, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Mrs. Haynes was born March 28, 1925, in Lakeview, to Artie and John Hatley. She had worked as a sales representative for Eva's. She was a member of Central Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Haynes; two sons, Pat Haynes and Ricky Haynes; four sisters; and a brother.

Survivors include five nieces, Grozella Usrey, Judy Brewster and Tonda Gowdy, all of Amarillo, Jaci McAnear of Clarendon and Kathy Cable of Colorado Springs, Colo.; three nephews, Jim Aduddell of Farmington, N.M., Kirby Hatley of Clarendon and John Haynes of Ecuador; and she was "G.G." to her honorary great-grandson, Dylan.

The family suggests memorials be to High Plains Children's Home, 11461 S. Western St., Amarillo, TX 79118.

Thank you for raising a fine son like Ricky. Ricky and I sang in the church choir together and hung out with the same group of church friends. We all miss him.
