Funeral services for Marlin R. Renfro, 98, of Athens will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Carroll and Lehr Memory chapel in Athens. Burial will follow in the Athens City cemetery.
Mr. Renfro died Thursday in a local hospital following a brief illness.
A retired farmer, he had lived in Athens and the Henderson county area since 1918. He was a member of the Christian Church and a former Woodmen of the World.
Survivors include one son, Erwin H. Renfro of Corpus Christi; three daughters, Allie Pearl Bass of Montalba, Lorene Kirksey of Athens and Huldah Pate of Livingston; four sisters, Bessie Bell of Corsicana, Teenie Franklin of Fort Worth, Jessie Holliefield and Tillie Ward, both of Blooming Grove; nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Richard Bass Jr., Gary S. Bass, J.E. Pate, Hugh Kirksey, Keith Renfro, Kevin Renfro, Don Williams, Calvin Brewer, Don Morris, Ted Brewer and Alan pate.
