Melba Hohstadt, 87, of La Grande died July 22 at a local care center.
A celebration of life service will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Cove Cemetery with the Rev. Mark Schlessman of the First Christian Church officiating. Loveland Funeral Chapel is handling arrangements.
Mrs. Hohstadt was born May 15,1914, to Thomas and Edith Sparks Goss in Tremonton, Utah. She married H.C. Cletus Hohstadt on Dec. 11,1931, in Vale.
She was a member of the Mount Fanny Grange, enjoyed gardening and was an avid baseball fan. Crocheting table cloths and dresses were another favorite hobby.
She and her husband owned and operated the Hohstadt dairy farm in Cove from 1944 to 1973.
Survivors include her sons Richard Dick Hohstadt of Cove and Larry Joe Hohstadt of Union; sister, Nola Tabler of Ephrata, Wash.; six grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Her husband, son James Hohstadt, two brothers and two sisters died earlier.
