William Edward Sanders was born to Billington M. Sanders and Julia Lillian White. Ed served during WW II and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. Ed married Mary Ruth Hallmark Brown Allen upon his return from military service.
William Edward Sanders, 76 of 811 26th St., Phenix City, died Friday at Doctors Hospital.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at North Phenix Baptist Church, with burial in Lakeview Memory Gardens, according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Phenix City.
Mr. Sanders was born Dec 2, 1910 in Girard, now Phenix City, son of Mr. and Mrs. Billington Sanders. He retired from the old Eagle and Phenix Mill. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was a member of North Phenix Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife Ruth; a daughter, Louise Maxwell, of Cusseta, Ga.; a sister, Thelma Tillery of Auburn, Ala.; a brother, Heyward Sanders of Pensacola, Fla.; four grandchildren, great-grandchilden, neices and nephews.
