In Major WW II battles: Naples-Foggia, Rome-Arno, Rhineland Southern France, Central Europe. Served in North Africa, Italy, France, then Germany.
Gun Crewman medium artillery, Handled field artillery, ammunition, cooked, and drove. He was the sole survivor of troops riding a truck when it was hit by a shell.
In Camp Bowie, TX, he was one of three stage hands who entertained the troops as comedienes. The review of the performance said the 3 stage hands were most popular with the audience.

European, African, Middle Eastern Service Medal with one Silver Star & 1 Bronze Arrowhead.
