Professional Hockey Player. A native of Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan, Barton played the position of Right Wing for teams in the NHL, IHL, Can-Am, IAHL, AHL, AHA, Al-Cup, TBJHL, M-Cup, and the TBSHL, hockey leagues. At 5'06, and 160lbs (or 5'07, 155lbs), Barton played for the Port Arthur Bruins in 1923, and 1926 to 1927, Port Arthur Ports from 1927 to 1929, Pittsburgh Pirates from 1929 to 1930, Philadelphia Quakers from 1930 to 1931, Pittsburgh Yellowjackets from 1931 to 1932, Springfield Indians from 1931 to 1932, Buffalo Bisons from 1932 to 1937, Philadelphia Ramblers from 1936 to 1940, New York Rangers from 1939 to 1940, Hershey Bears from 1940 to 1941, St. Louis Flyers from 1940 to 1942, New Haven Eagles from 1942 to 1943, Washington Lions from 1942 to 1943, and the Pittsburgh Hornets from 1943 to 1944. Barton retired from playing hockey in 1944. Barton passed away on September 14, 1969, in St. Louis, Missouri, 11 days after his 62nd birthday.
