Elsie May Frazier was born 29 May 1896 in Oregon to Elihue Washington Frazier and Ethel Moore Rowton. Ethel's sibllings were Marion Edward and Viola. The children were all born in Oregon. Their mother grew homesick for her family back in Springfield, Missouri so she returned with the children to visit. Ethel became ill with typhoid fever and died.So to was the fate of baby Viola. They both died in 1899.
E. W. (called Wash) came from Oregon for the funeral. They were buried in Danforth Cemetery in Strafford, Greene Co, Missouri. He returned to Oregon with Elsie and Marion but found it too difficult to care for young children and work. He returned to Springfield were he remarried in 1903 to Rose E. (Chapman) Rowton, the widow of his deceased wife's brother, Franklin Edgar Rowton. This marriage did not last long for he married again to another widow, Bessie McMahon in 1909. That married did not last long either. Wash took Elsie and Marion to live with his sister. Annie Williams. Wash returned to Oregon working for as a millwright at the Frisco Railroad stops. He later took Marion back to Oregon with him.
Elsie quit school in the 8th grade. She went to work for the telephone company as a switch board operator. Elsie met her husband,Alfred E. Hamblin, in Missouri. He was a telegrapher for the Frisco Railroad.They married and lived in West Plains, Missouri a short time before leaving for Laurel, Montana. They later moved to Livingston. They adopted a son and called him Marion Leon Hamblin who was born 28 May 1930. Alfred went to work for the Northern Pacific as a brakeman. Later he was promoted to conductor. He died tragically in Butte, Montana on the 3rd of July 1943.
After Alfred died, Elsie married John W. Alling on 23 Oct 1945 in Livingston, Park County, Montana.

Elsie raised their adopoted son alone and lived for 37 more years.
