Ewel Henry Beard, 80, of Kingston, Arkansas died November, 20, 2000 at his home. He was born June 26, 1920 at Weathers, Arkansas the son of Aubrey and Ada Wharton Beard. He owned and operated Beard's Grocery in Kingston from 1947 to 1983 and served in the Civilian Conservation Corps in the late 1930's. He was a farmer and an avid sportsman. He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, Jeremy Ewel Weaver and one great-grandson, Jacob Thaddeus Allred.

Survivors include: his wife, Margaret Callaway Beard, of the home, to whom he was married on November 7, 1943 at the Huntsville Church of Christ; three daughters, Julia Jo Allred of Huntsville, Arkansas, Nancy June Bowen of Lowell, Arkansas and Joyce Beth Weaver of Kingston; five grandsons, Scott Allred of Phoenix, Arizona, Shawn Allred of Florala, Alabama, Lane Weaver and Cody Bowen of Lowell, Arkansas; six great-grandchildren, Candis, Gary, Trevor and Alexis of Phoenix, Arizona and Brandon and Brittany of Florala, Alabama; one great-great-grandson, Brandon of Phoenix.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 24th at the Kingston Community Church with Rev. Donnie Villines officiating. Interment will be in the Cecil Cemetery at Kingston. Pallbearers will be: Lane Weaver, Ken Bowen, Cody Weaver, Troy Cline, Dennis Davis, and H.D. Callaway. Honorary pallbearers will be: Buster Austin, Oren Austin, C.B. Cline, Sammy Cline, Charlie Beasley, James Hargis, Carson Holt, Hop Elzy, Scott Allred, and Shawn Allred. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
