He is survived by one son, John C. Haley, Sr., a prominent grocer in Lexington, KY. He had one step-daughter, Cora Cummins Lucas (my great-grandmother).
Mr. Haley had five grandsons; Samuel, John C. Jr, Fred R., and Carl J. Haley of Lexington and Clyde Haley of Lawrenceburg, KY; four granddaughters; Minnie Haley (Newt) Gosney, of Lexington, Miss Francis Haley of Baltimore, Maryland,, Mrs Fred Snyder of Seattle Washington, and Mrs. Charles Malone of Louisville, KY. He also had one step-granddaughter, Birdie Agnes Lucas Hughes Stone (my maternal grandmother).
Mr. Haley was born in Indiana. He was the son of William Haley and Mary Spears, also born in Indiana.
