Mrs. Allie Ireland Haley, age 59, wife of Charles 'Charlie' Haley, died Thursday, September 19, 1940 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Lexington, KY where she had been admitted on Sunday, September 15, 1940. She had been ill for eight weeks at her home on Broadwell Street near Leeslick, Harrison County, KY. Her death was attributed to acute coronary occlusion due to hypertension, cardiovascular disease, and arteriosclerosis.

Mrs. Haley was born in Owen County, KY February 4, 1881, a daughter of Asa William 'A. W.' Ireland and Mary Frances 'Frankie' Hughes Ireland. She married Mr. Haley on March 25, 1896.

Besides her husband, Mrs. Haley is survived by two daughters and four sons; Mrs. Mary C. Haley Moore (Robert), Miss Mamie Lee Haley, William Bryant Haley, Clyde H. Haley, Millard Haley, and Joe Boyd Haley, as well as a sister, Mrs. Stella Ireland Forsythe (Fred) and two brothers, John Robert Ireland (Mattie) and Hendrix Ireland (Effie). Mrs. Haley was predeceased by four brothers; George William Ireland (Iva); Cleveline Ireland (Bessie): Joseph S. Ireland (Ollie) and Wesley Ireland (Ollie).

Allie and Charles Haley had a stillborn daughter born March 8, 1913 in Harrison County, Kentucky. The infant was born three months premature. According to the death certificate the infant was buried in the 'family burial grounds'.

Mrs. Haley was a member of Leesburg Christian Church.

Funeral services were held Sunday September 22, 1940 at Smith-Rees Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Dan Roberts, Dr. H. C. Blount, Dr. K. W. Brumback, L. Warth, John McMillan, and Ollie Turner.
