Palestine – May 15, 2008 – R. Wesley "Wes" Werner, 60, of 198 West High Street, died at 11:05 p.m. Thursday at The Medical Center, Beaver, PA.
Mr. Werner was born April 29, 1948 in Salem, a son of the late William J. and Grace L. Shannon Werner and had lived in this area all of his life.

He was employed as Information Systems Manager at the Beaver County Times, Beaver, having worked there the past 39 years. He was a member of the First Church of Christ and the Loyal Order of Moose, East Palestine where he served as treasurer and was caller for the Moose Bingo. He was also a member of the American Poolplayers Association.

He is survived by his wife, the former Roberta J."Bobbie" Chysh whom he married January 16, 1971; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Joseph V. Hric III of Solon and Michaelann and Aaron P. Oates of East Palestine; a son, William Wesley Werner of East Palestine; two brothers, D. Russell (Patty) Werner of East Palestine and K. Lester Werner of Greensboro, NC; four grandchildren, Avery, Mikayla, Aaron, and Austin Oates; his mother-in-law, Zola Chysh; four nieces and a nephew.

He was preceded in death by a brother, W. Kenneth Werner.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Van Dyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home, East Palestine with the Reverend James Legge officiating. Burial will follow in Beaver Cemetery, Beaver, PA. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-4 & 6-9 p.m. on Sunday and one hour prior to the services on Monday.

Wes was a giving person in life and also gave in death as an organ and tissue donor. Memorial contributions may be made to the East Palestine EMT's, 75 East Main Street, East Palestine, OH 44413.
