Jack Dale Doughty passed away at Mercy Medical Center in Nampa, Idaho, Thursday, May 10, 2007, at the age of 73. Jack was born on February 2, 1934, at Asher, Oklahoma, to Maurice and Maggie Doughty. Jack was the youngest of seven siblings. At the age of 8, he and his family moved to Scottsbluff, Nebraska, where Jack grew up. Jack married Marge Doty in Scottsbluff, with whom he had 4 children, Darla, Carol, Virginia and Bill. In 1955 they moved to Nampa and were later divorced. He later married Ardell Ralls on September 28, 1963. Ardell had 3 children, Terry, Kathy and Tim whom Jack adopted and raised as his own.
Jack loved horses, and along with Ardell, was a lifelong member of the Idaho Wranglers Riding Club. Jack was a self-taught musician and loved to jam with his brothers late into the evening, playing every country song ever written.
Jack worked at various places around the Treasure Valley; working as a truck driver and diesel mechanic for Armour Meat Packing, as well as working in various welding shop in the valley, to owning his own repair shop. Everything he did was always done right.
After retiring, he worked part-time as a truck driver for Lehman Express. After Ardell retired, they spent many a day traveling throughout the United States and Canada in their 5th wheel seeing family, the sights and enjoying their time together.
Jack and Ardell attended Zion Lutheran Church throughout their marriage of 44 years.
He is survived by his wife Ardell, his sister Mildred (Robert) Adams of Scottsbluff, Neb: a brother, Gene (Nita) Doughty of Muskogee, Okla.; his children Terry Doughty of Nampa, Kathy (Dave) Allen of Boise, Tim (Rebekah) Doughty of Nampa, Darla Dyches of Montana, Carol Pil of Nanticoke, Penn., Virginia (David) Vaught of Emmett, Bill (Sandy) Doughty of Kuna; 13 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Maurice and Maggie Doughty, his brothers, Ray, Troy, and Cecil Doughty, his sister Opal Gardner and 1 grandchild Joshua Doughty.
Services will be held Tuesday, May 15th, at Zion Lutheran Church at 404 Nectarine, Nampa, at 10:30am. A viewing will be held on Monday from 4 to 7 pm. at Nampa Funeral Home, 415 12th Ave. S. The family will be in attendance.
