Gertrude, 17 days shy of her 104th birthday, ended her earthly journey and began eternal life on May 20, 2010. Mrs. Griffith was born in Gainesville, Texas on June 6, 1906. In 1974 when Gertrude moved to Dallas, she was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Dallas Country Club, Helen Poe Book & Author Club and the Christ Child Society. Known to her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren as Mema, she enjoyed most being with family and keeping up with what everyone was busy doing in their daily lives. Gertrude is survived by sons Joe Lynn Griffith of Dallas and Don Griffith (Becky) of Ennis, and daughter Gretchen Clement (Mark) of Ennis. Her nine grandchildren are Hilary Olson, Greg Griffith, David Griffith, Mark Griffith, Margaret Slawin, Cindy Austin, Katheryn Hill, Paul Griffith and Tim Griffith. She has seventeen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. with a Biblical Wake Service at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 23, 2010 at J. E.
