FLOYD BINGHAM GRAVESIDE RITES HELD TURSDAY

GRAVESIDE services under the direction of Alvin Bowden of Vernal Third Ward Bishopric were held at Maeser Fairview Cemetery Tuesday at 2 p.m. for Floyd Bingham, 36, who died Thursday at 4:53 p.m. in the Iron County Hospital. Mr. Bingham died following an operation.

Opening prayer was offered by Dr. Ray E. Spendlove and speaker was Dr. Dan Q. Price. Patriarch Fred G. Bingham dedicated the grave. Rites by American Legion were conducted by June Hacking.

Pallbearers were Dan Price, Ray Spendlove, Ralph Ashby, Donald Ashby, Glenn Cooper and Hugh Caldwell.

Funeral services were conducted Monday at 10 a.m. in the Cedar Eighth Ward with Bishop Giles Bolander officiating.

Mr. Bingham was sanitarian for the Utah State Department of Health for Iron, Kane, Washington, Beaver and Millard Counties. He has served as sanitarian in the five-county area for the past three years. He held the same position in Vernal for two years. He graduated from the Vanderbuilt College in Nashville, Tennesee and became sanitarian for the state of Illinois. He then came to Utah.

Mr. Bingham was a member of the Cedar City Lions Club and served as a vice president for the past year. He was in the Young Men's Mutual Improvement Association superintendency of the Cedar Fifth Ward, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served on a Spanish-American mission for the Church. He served as ward clerk, superintendent and in the Sunday School in Vernal.

Mr. Bingham was born in Vernal October 12, 1920, a son of Lester and Martha May Roberson Bingham. He graduated from Uintah High School and attended Brigham Young University, California Polytech and the University of Illinois. He served in World War II in the Navy. He married LaNora Hood at Normal, Illinois, April 1, 1945. The marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple. She died March 25, 1951. He married Barbara Ashby, December 28, 1951 in Roosevelt.

Surviving him are his widow, five children, Robert, Ruth, Ann, Ralph, Elton and Johnny, all of Cedar City; his parents, Vernal; one brother and two sisters, Alton Stewart, New York; Veda B. Carter, Logan and Victor L. Bingham, Vernal.
