HUNTINGTON - Clementina Juran (Valdez) Atwood, age 58, returned to our Heavenly Father July 28, 2001 after a courageous battle.
She was born May 15 1943 in Monero, N.M. to Daniel and Rebecca Valdez. She married Edward Garcia 1961, they later divorced. She married Ferrel Atwood Dec 19, 1982 in Huntington.
Tina enjoyed hunting, camping, cooking and spending time with her family. Her favorite place on earth was Window Pane Ridge in Argyle Canyon.
Friends may remember Tina from Koret of California, 7-Elven, First Security Bank, and Price River Coal.
She is survived by husband, Ferrel Atwood, Huntington; children, Alane Halverson, Helper; Jackie (Gary) Arrington, Mike Atwood, Huntington; Kathy Atwood; Huntington, Rusty (Susan) Atwood, Hotchkiss, Colo.; L. Gayle Johnson, Sandy; David (Polly) Atwood, Spring Glen; sisters, Angie Espinoza, Salt Lake City; Irene (Bill) Vansoelen,, Helper; Sara (Mike) Jones, Salt Lake City; Vivian (Bob) Teeny, Price; brother, Ben (Rosie) Manzanares, Carbondale, Colo.; and sister-in-law Ida (Richard) Westbrook, Wellington. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews; 21 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by parents, Rebecca and Daniel Valdez, and brother, Danny Valdez.
A private service was held July 30, in Argyle. In lie of flowers, the family asks that any contributions be made in Tina's name to Desertview Federal Credit Union to help with medical expenses. The family would also like to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Nancy Lawhorn and her staff along with the Rocky Mountain Hospice staff for their support.
(She is actually buried in Argyle Canyon on The Atwood's land but owns a plot in the Celveland City Cemetery in Cleveland, Emery, Utah)
