It's with our deepest sadness that we announce the passing of Alexander Edward Forristall on Sunday the 11th of January 2009. Alex left us while doing something that brought him great joy - getting "air" on his motorcycle on the Hull family ranch in Dixon.
Alex lived in Pinole, California, and was a 2007 graduate of Pinole Valley High School. Alex had a great zest for life, and though his time with us measured a mere 19.5 years, it was steeped in exhilaration.
Alex was an exceptional human being, an old soul in a youthful body who could relate to anyone, anytime. He valued his relationships greatly and was generous of both his time and his heart. He had a winning personality matched with an infectious smile and statuesque charm. Alex will be indescribably missed by all.
Alex was proud to be a Customer Service Representative at the Hilltop branch of The Mechanics Bank, something that also made his mother positively burst with pride. At the time of his passing, he had been looking forward to starting classes at DVC to both continue his education and take his career to the next level. He was a goal setter, and most importantly, a goal achiever.
Additionally, Alex could be found during the holiday season working on his family's Christmas tree lot after he finished for the day at the bank - bringing smiles and laughter to each person he encountered along the way.
Alex had many hobbies and truly made the most of his time here on earth. He and his brother Tony shared a mutual love of motocross, and for many years they hauled their bikes across the state for competitions. It was a real family affair, and one that bonded them together like glue. Alex was also an avid golfer who enjoyed playing with his Dad, Brother, Grandpa, Uncles and Friends anytime, anywhere - especially at the Green Valley Country Club.
He was good at everything he attempted and golfing was no exception - he looked forward to "retiring by the age of 50 and playing golf 4 days a week!" Alex was the ultimate "happy camper" and relished the annual camping trips with family and close friends to Belden where campfires, volleyball, races, crawdad fishing, story telling, hiking, and walking his dogs filled his days with fun.
Alex is survived by his loving and devoted parents, Dino and Christine Forristall; his sister and brother, Sherry and Anthony Forristall; his grandparents, David and Victoria Forristall; his uncles, Bill, Dave, Jimmy, David, Matthew, Darrell, Dallas, John and Greg; his aunts, Cathy, Linda, Judy, Brigitte, Lavonne, Elisie, Laurie, Julie and Christy; his wonderful cousins, great cousins and friends too numerous to mention.
There will be a visitation on Thursday, January 15, 2009 from 5:30 p.m. 8:00 p.m. at the Wilson & Kratzer Mortuary at 13644 San Pablo Avenue, San Pablo, CA 94806 (510)232-6552. The funeral services will be held at the same location on the following day, Friday, January 16, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. A celebration of Alex's life will take place on Friday after the funeral services at a location to be announced.
