KATHRYN ANN "Kay" SYVERSON

Kay was born in Lyon, Oregon to Albert and Mildred Carr, the second of three daughters. She grew up in Lyons and attended Mari-Linn grade school and Stayton High School, graduating in 1958.
She met DELMAR SYVERSON while working at the Gingerbread House in Mehama and they were married on April 9th, 1960. She spent most of her life as a devoted mother and grandmother. She did work part time for several years at Etzel Farms planting and hoeing and also picking berries for many years. She was also self-employed in cleaning and worked at the Santiam Medical Clinic for over 10 years. She was always willing to help those who needed it by taking them to appointments or just checking on them.
She enjoyed reading, especially about history and biographies; family genealogy; taking care of cemetery plots, playing bunco, puzzles and family gatherings.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Gloria Schiewek.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Delmar; sister Naydene Flatman of Mill City; daughters Donna Baumann of Scio, and Terrie Bigness of Stayton. Sons Randy Syverson of Salem and Ryan Syverson of Keizer. Grandchildren Cody Cade of Stayton, Tyler Baumann of Salem, Devon Baumann of McMinnville, Katherine Bigness of Stayton, Weston Syverson of Stayton and two great grandchildren Zenya and Gideon Baumann.
Services will be held at Weddle Funeral Chapel on Friday, June 19th at 2:00.
