FAYE JOSEPHINE PORTER VERBECK

SUBLIMITY- Faye was born in Silverton, Oregon to Ai Porter and Josephine Baller Porter. On December 7, 1929, she married LOUIS VERBECK and resided in Mill City most of her life. She was an active member of the Presbyterian Church and the Mill City Garden Club. She performed seasonal work at the Stayton Cannery and volunteered a the Mill City Information Center regularly.
Faye enjouyed spendingtime with the family members and loved the beach, animals and fireworks. She moved to Salem in later years to be near her son, Richard Verbeck and resided at Madrona Hills. She then moved to "The Cedars" at Marian Estates in Sublimity and lived ther until her death.
Faye is survived by 3 children, Louis Verbeck, Jr. (Neoma) of Tacoma, Washington, Marlene Gorman (James) of Coos Bay, and Richard Verbeck (Dorothy) of Salem; and a half brother, Harold Mires of Cloverdale, California; 8 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Louis Verbeck; grandson, Steven Wirick; and granddaughter, Lavonne Verbeck preceded her in death.
A memorial service will be held for Faye at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2009 at Unger Funeral Chapel in Silverton . Reception following. Private interment.
