Barbara and Jeff Caneen died Saturday, February 20th, 1988, in a light plane crash near their home outside of Rosamond, California.
Jeff, 29, was born in Plainfield, N.J. Prior to his marriage to Barbara Pickett, he served four years with the U.S. Navy.
Barbara Pickett, 25, was born in Kearney, Nebraska. She served three years with the U.S. Air Force after her graduation from Santiam High School. The couple are survived be sons Michael, 21 months, and Jeramy, 4 months. Jeff is survived by his father Jerry Caneen, Turkey; his mother Michele Caywood, Sardis, Ohio; brother Joseph of Los Angeles, CA; sisters Jenny and Mimi of Eugene, OR; as well as grandmother Marie Cummings, Edison, N.J.
Barbara is survived by her parents, Don and Joan Pickett of Mill City; sister Maggie of Gresham; brothers Ron of Salem, John of Mill City, Bob, U.S. Navy, San Diego, and Bill of Monmouth, OR. In addition, Barbara is also survived by two nieces and four nephews; maternal grandmother; Rosalie Bryant, and paternal grandmother, Roselia Pickett, both of Kearney, Nebraska; as well as paternal great-grandmother Gertrude Pickett of Arapahoe, Nb.
Private burial services will be held at the Fairview Cemetery, Mill City, with a memorial service to be held at the Presbyterian Church. Date and time to be announced later.
The family requests no flowers; donations to a favorite charity is encouraged.
