Eugene Monroe Bartlett

Death: Jan. 25, 1941

Hymn composer/publisher. Composed many very popular hymns including "Camping In Canaan's Land," "Everybody Will Be Happy Over There," "Jesus Opened Up The Way" and probably his most popular "Victory In Jesus." Bartlett at­tend­ed the Hall-Moody In­sti­tute, Mar­tin, Ten­nes­see, and the Will­iam Jew­ell Acad­e­my, In­de­pen­dence, Mis­sou­ri. He also found­ed the Hart­ford Mu­sic Com­pa­ny in Hart­ford, Ar­kan­sas, and was ed­it­or of the mu­sic mag­a­zine Her­ald of Song.

I just heard 'Victory In Jesus' on Family Radio sung by George Beverly Shea. Continues to be an inspiration.

Victory in Jesus is one of my all time favorite hymns - I can still hear my mother singing that song. Thank you. Rest in Peace.
