Union Civil War veteran. He served in Company D of the 3rd Ohio Veteran Volunteer Cavalry and fought in 10 major engagements including Chickamauga and Atlanta.
He was a member of Portland GAR Post 12.
This grave was unmarked for 85 years until a government headstone was obtained and placed by the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War.
