Shane Cassidy Colston, 22, of Chanute, Kansas, passed away Thursday, November 11, 2004 at his home.
He was born on March 30, 1982 in Chanute, Kansas, the son of Carmen Ira and Nola Mae (Ethridge) Colston.
He was born with Cystic Fibrosis and had a life long struggle with complications of the disease.
He was raised and attended public schools in Chanute, graduating from Chanute High School in the "Class of 2000".
He liked to restore and ‘fancy up' his 1995 Honda Civic. He entered the car in a car-show and won a trophy. He enjoyed helping his friends install stereos and speakers in their cars. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, nephew and friend, and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his parents of the home; two brothers, Travis Colston and wife Paula (Burton) of Chanute, KS, and Jeffrey Colston and his fiancé Kimberly Morris of Lenexa, KS; a half-brother, Troy Colston of Altanta, GA; a half-sister, (Missy) Edith Fields of Halstead, KS; nieces, Jennifer and Nicolle Colston of Chanute, KS; a nephew, Ryan Colston of Chanute, KS; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mary and Francis Reed; a brother, Brian Wade Colston; and a half-brother, Mark Allan Colston.
Services will be November 15, 2004 at the Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, Chanute, KS, with Reverend Dale Ohmart officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorials in his name may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
